There's a new locally-made brew in town.
The B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame (HHOF), based in Penticton, launched a new lager with Highway 97 Brewing on Nov. 27.
A portion of the proceeds from every pint sold at the South Okanagan Events Centre and Highway 97 Brewing will support the provincial museum, which is located inside the SOEC.
"It helps promote our brand, it helps promote the Highway 97 brand,鈥 said B.C. HHOF chair Jim Hughson.
Pints of the lager will also be poured at select spots across Penticton, with six-packs available for purchase at Highway 97 Brewery.
The beer's label, according to the HHOF, was designed by Penticton artist Terry Leonard.
鈥淚t increases the awareness in our community, it's another way that the Penticton community has joined us in this venture that is the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame," added Hughson, who also served as the lead voice for CBC and Sportsnet's Hockey Night in Canada.
"We鈥檝e had such a wonderful buy-in from the Penticton business community over the last few years and this is just a progression of that.鈥
