From Princeton to 91大黄鸭: Frannie's Coffee pours another cup

The owners of Frannie's Coffee are hoping to continue expanding their coffee shops

Frannie's Coffee opened a second location in 91大黄鸭 in August and have plans of opening a third.

During the dark winter months, a coffee shop can help bring a warm and cozy atmosphere to almost any community.

This is especially true for Sean McHaffie, the owner of Frannie's Coffee in Princeton who enjoys a cozy coffee corner so much that he has opened up a new location in 91大黄鸭 with his wife Heather.

The opportunity to create a second Frannie's location came in August and had an aspiration of McHaffie's for a while.

"We live in 91大黄鸭, (but) I go to Princeton quite frequently. We've had lots of positive reviews, especially from tourists who come through in the summer," McHaffie said.

The McHaffies have plans to open up more coffee shops in the future, with hopes of establishing another one in 91大黄鸭.

Their location in 91大黄鸭 is not too different than the one in Princeton and McHaffie hopes to keep it that way with a community feel to each shop.

"A lot of these newer caf茅s, and especially the newer chain caf茅s, are very minimalist and cold. We want to be that warm inviting space where you want to come and have a business meeting ... (or) come and sit down and chat with friends. Not just the space to come and grab your coffee and take off," he said.

This is something McHaffie prides his coffee shop on having.

"We would love for that to be what we're known for," he said.

Customers have also been visiting their location in Princeton more often because of the to support Family Services Society.

"Gypsy" David John Buskell has brought some items into Frannie's to sell, which has generated more people coming into the caf茅.

"I don't know (if) Frannie's would be around without Gypsy. He's helped us so many times," Sean said.

"We want to give back to the community and not just be a spot for the community to come," he added.

Next up for Frannie's is to hopefully be part of the Okanagan Hot Chocolate Festival.

The festival will run from Jan. 17 to Feb. 16, and caf茅s across the region can entice customers to come in and check out unique and different versions of the timeless drink.

This would be the first year Frannie's would take part in the festival.

"We have what we call a European hot chocolate, which is super popular. We would definitely love to do something (for the festival)," he said.
