The award is given out by Choice Hotels Canada at its prestigious annual Awards for Property Excellence (APEX).

According to a press release, the Renovation of the Year award recognizes a property that completed renovations that subsequently drove growth in guest satisfaction increases. Included in this is guest feedback that focused on increases in the overall condition of the room, as well as their likelihood to recommend the hotel in future.

鈥淭he scope and quality of this renovation speaks for itself,鈥 said Choice Hotels Canada CEO Brian Leon. 鈥淭he guest feedback on this beautifully updated hotel has been stellar and we are so pleased to honour them with this national award.鈥

Located at 2656 Highway 97 North, the renovations took place from January 2023-June 2024.

At the annual event, nine APEX awards are given out to recognize top performance, commitment to guest service, operational excellence, the most outstanding properties and specific individuals across the country.

This award is Comfort Suite's sixth APEX award.
