A new Vernon brewery featuring 10-pin bowling is set to open in the new year, and in the meantime, it's looking for more people to join its team with an upcoming job fair.
BNA Brewing Co. has been successfully pouring pints in 91大黄鸭 for the past nine years, and in June its owners they are expanding to Vernon.
The brewery and restaurant is located in the old Finning building on Kalamalka Lake Road. The Nixon Hospitality team is working on restoring the 50-year-old building, and while the plan was originally to open BNA Vernon this fall, it is now expected to open at the end of January.
But first, the owners are looking to round out their staff. While many of the kitchen and serving positions have already been filled, BNA Vernon is still looking to hire servers, bartenders, food runners, security door hosts, line cooks, prep cooks and dishwashers.
To help find employees, BNA Vernon is partnering with WorkBC Vernon to host a job fair with the goal of filling front and back-of-house positions.
鈥淲e do bring together a lot of fun people who are passionate about the industry and making a special guest experience,鈥 said Dominique Cowan, director of human resources at Nixon Hospitality, which operates seven dining "concepts," including BNA 91大黄鸭.
The job fair is being hosted at WorkBC Vernon (3105 33rd St.) on Monday, Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applicants are encouraged to stop by and bring a resum茅. Any job-seekers who would like help preparing for the job fair can visit the WorkBC Centre to get assistance with their resum茅 and interview skills.
鈥淭here are a lot of skills that we can teach so we鈥檙e really looking for a strong work ethic and passion,鈥 said Cowan, adding there are great opportunities for those looking to advance their skills and grow with the company while enjoying a fun work environment.
The Vernon brewery and eatery is expecting to begin training its staff in early January.
