The Central Okanagan Food Bank received a large donation from Hilton Global Foundation ahead of the holidays.

The charitable arm of Hilton hotels donated $20,745 to the organization.

VP of Hilton Global Catherine Linskey said the food bank came to their attention after wildfires threatened a great deal of the Central Okanagan and thousands were evacuated.

鈥淲e are proud to have supported the effort to provide immediate help for displaced families and were impressed by the incredible response of many local organizations, including the Central Okanagan Food Bank. We hope this donation will make a difference for the Christmas season.鈥�
