The John Christmas light tour illuminated hearts over the holidays, helping to raise $42,800 for children with special needs.
The North Okanagan Neurological Association (NONA) Lights for Kids tour, which expanded in 2023 to include Armstrong and Coldstream in addition to Vernon, saw 30 homes transformed into festive wonderlands. Families from across the community participated by driving through the decorated neighborhoods, spreading joy and cheer throughout the holiday season.
NONA also partnered with local businesses, where the likes of Nicholas Alexander Home & Garden, Kaleco, Ratio, Chicken Little, Match Eatery and Public House, Teeter Totter Toys and the Towne Theatre went above and beyond to contribute something special to raise additional to make it a record-raising year.
鈥淲e are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the community during the NONA Lights for Kids with John Christmas Light Tour 2023,鈥 said Helen Armstrong, executive director at NONA Child Development Centre. 鈥淭his event not only brought joy and warmth to our neighborhoods but also demonstrated the incredible generosity of our community. The funds raised will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to provide essential services to children with special needs.鈥
The community came together to support the event, creating a magical experience for families and contributing to a tremendous success in fundraising.
NONA is a leading organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services for children with special needs. The services provided include speech therapy, infant development and autism services, with over 850 children and family receiving care from NONA every year.
