Penticton鈥檚 Denny鈥檚 hit a grand slam, serving up over 600 Grand Slam breakfasts and raising more than $3,000 for South Okanagan Women in Needs Society (SOWINS).

Last week, the recently renovated Denny鈥檚 hosted a Grand Slam Day, selling Grand Slam breakfasts for $4.99, with the proceeds going to SOWINS.

From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., they sold 610 Grand Slams and raised more than $3,000 to support locals leaving a life of abuse and violence.

鈥淲e want to express a huge thank you to Denny鈥檚 and the community for their incredible support,鈥� said SOWINS on their Facebook page.

SOWINS also thanked the staff at Denny鈥檚 and SOWINS board members for making it such a successful day.

The next fundraiser for SOWINS is Bounce Radio鈥檚 Have a Heart Radiothon.

SOWINS received a donation matching pledge of $10,000 for the Have a Heart Radiothon. from now until March 8 will be matched up to $10,000. This means that every dollar you contribute will have double the impact in supporting individuals leaving a life of abuse and violence, said SOWINS.

The Radiothon will be live at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre on March 8.
