The Army Navy and Air Force Veterans of Vernon (ANAF) announced $21,500 in donations to various groups across the Okanagan community.
The ANAF鈥檚 meat draws were the source of the funding, with the society donating all the money raised from the draws minus the cost of purchasing the meats.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been really good this year with people donating,鈥 said ANAF treasurer Fern DuPont, at the cheque ceremony from the Spitfire Lounge. 鈥淲e had over 100 people in this place on Saturday, you couldn鈥檛 find a seat.鈥
Butcher Boys provides the meat to the club, who in turn sells it via draws that occur every Saturday throughout the year. There were 15 local organizations receiving funds from ANAF.
鈥淎ll the funds raised stay local, which is great,鈥 DuPont said.
A total of $30,250 has been donated so far this year. The ANAF is not solely for veterans or members of service, as it is open to everyone. The group hosts dart nights regularly throughout the year. More information can be found at .
