The annual Easter Seals Drop Zone in 91大黄鸭 saw a full slate of people ready to rappel down the side of one of the towers in the Landmark District.

An estimated 50 people signed up and raised the minimum of $875 per person to be a superhero for the day.

Funds raised support kids and adults with disabilities who participate in Easter Seals summer camps like Camp Winfield.

"It's a chance to really get out of your comfort zone," said Easter Seals President and CEO Lisa Beck. She added that different types of fundraisers attract different people and although galas are fun, the Drop Zone is something special.

Scott Burke with Random Acts of Costuming came out dressed as Captain America. He rappelled the 23 story Landmark building at the 2023 91大黄鸭 Drop Zone and came back this year as part of the community fun and entertainment during the all-day event.

"Heroes are anybody. Heroes are people who do things outside of their normal comfort zone to help others," Burke said.

A fundraising goal of $100,000 was set for the community with over $70,000 raised at the time of publication.

Easter Seals Drop Zone is gearing up to rappel in Vancouver on Sept. 10, Burnaby Sept. 14, and Victoria on Sept. 18. The provincial goal is set at $400,000.
