The three-year initiative is being backstopped by a $10-million pledge from the foundation to support renovation and repair projects and other programs that provide vulnerable youth with access to safe, stable housing and support services.
"On any given night, more than 6,000 young people are without a place to call home, and that has to change," said foundation senior manager for community affairs Paulette Minard.
"Together with our partners, suppliers, associates and customers are working to bring supportive housing and life skills development programs to vulnerable youth, to help change their lives and allow them to build brighter futures."
The Home Depot Canada Foundation brings together volunteerism, do it yourself expertise, product donation and monetary grants to support affordable housing and build strong communities for Canadians in need.
