United Way BC and the Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) are inviting seniors in West 91大黄鸭 to join them for 鈥淣ourish and Thrive,鈥 a free community event aimed at promoting healthy aging.
The event will feature a hearty lunch and a workshop with practical tips for living well. Chef Alessandro De Angelis will prepare a delicious soup, while nutrition coach Dawn Thalheimer will lead a session titled Move Well, Eat Well, Live Well: Simple Steps for Healthy Aging.
鈥淛anuary is a tough time for many seniors who may feel isolated due to the cold Okanagan temperatures. This event offers not just valuable health tips but also a chance to connect with others,鈥 said Magda Kapp, United Way BC鈥檚 emergency response and partnerships specialist.
The event is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 20, at Emmanuel Church in West 91大黄鸭. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and activities will run until 1 p.m. The City of West 91大黄鸭 and the Westside Health Network Society are also supporting the event.
