The Penticton Lakeside Resort will once again fill with the sound of bagpipes and the smell of haggis as it hosts the Robbie Burns night on Jan. 15.

The annual celebration of the Ploughman Poet's birthday and toast to his immortal memory still has tickets available.

This is the ninth year the Penticton Scottish Festival Society has organized the event, which serves as one of their main fundraisers.

On Robbie Burns Night, people will be able to learn some of the history of the poet, hear recitations of his works including the famous Address to the Haggis, enjoy live music and dancing and good food.

There will be haggis on the menu, of course, as well as non-haggis and vegetarian options.

Doors open for this year's Celebration at 4:15 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 4:45 and dinner starting around 5:30. There will also be entertainment after dinner starting at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $75 for ages 12 and up, $35 for ages 4-11, and free for children under four. Tables of 10 seats are also available for $695.

Tickets can be purchased online at pentictonscottishfestival.ca or by phoning 250-896-8888.
