SilverStar Mountain Resort is set to light up the night sky during the Vernon ski hill's annual New Year's Eve celebration Tuesday, Dec. 31.
People can enjoy a magical evening at SilverStar this year. The celebration will feature a DJ, hot chocolate, s'mores around a fire, plenty of glimmering lights and of course, a dazzling fireworks display.
A signature feature of SilverStar's New Year's Eve celebration is the torchlight parade, which is already sold out. It involves skiers forming a line down the face of the mountain holding flares to create a magnificent sight for people watching below.
A party in the village will take place featuring DJ Hi-Status at 3 p.m. The torchlight parade will start at 5 p.m. with fireworks to follow at 5:15 p.m. or later. The party in the village will wrap up at 6 p.m.
