Many Hats Theatre Company is inviting you to join the birthday fun. It’s two weeks away for the Penticton acting troupe to debut Phil Olson’s hilarious ‘Birthday Club’ at the Many Hats Theatre in Penticton.

Rehearsals are going great, everyone’s having way too much fun, the set looks fabulous, and there’s even birthday cake! All they need now is you, said a press release.

Birthday Club opens on Feb. 9 and it runs until March 3. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. (Note that there are no Thursday evening performances.)

What’s the storyline? Five women get together for their birthdays, each has her own story to share, to drink, celebrate, commiserate and support each other as they negotiate through marriage, work, divorce, birth and kids, while solving the problems of the world.

The action takes place at Cheryl’s place (Shannon Wiseman French) who along with Abbie (Shatille Mcinnes), a very pregnant Kathy (Kim Palmer), Emily (Darcy Anderson) and surprise guest and prospective Birthday Clubber Sarah (Jill Fey making her Many Hats debut)

Birthday Club is directed by the dynamic duo of Vance Potter and Sharon Moriarty who have promised an evening of hilarity and warmth as this reunion of old friends unwinds. Eric Hanston wears the producer’s hat for this one.

Ticket holders on can enjoy opening night Friday Feb. 9 for a reception immediately after the final curtain featuring wines of Hester Creek and tasty snacks from Fergie at Honey Toast on Front Street.

Likewise on Saturday, Feb. 10 they are hosting Cannery Brewing with more tasty snacks from Honey Toast.

Many Hats Theatre is located in the Cannery Trade and Convention Centre at 306 1475 Fairview Road.
