After five years in downtown 91大黄鸭, a restaurant known for it鈥檚 variety of cocktails is shutting it鈥檚 doors for good.

Open since Canada day 2018, Jack鈥檚 on Bernard era is coming on Jan. 1.

鈥淒espite the hopes of remaining a staple in 91大黄鸭鈥檚 food and beverage scene, the lack of government support for businesses affected by unforeseen events became the decisive factor,鈥� said owner Casey Greabeiel. 鈥淛ack鈥檚 had a remarkable five-year run, but a series of challenges, culminating in the August fire, has led us to this difficult decision.鈥�

Greabeiel added that over a four-week span due to the Grouse Complex of wildfires in August, the restaurant lost more than $100,000 in revenue.

Despite losing Jack鈥檚, the restaurant鈥檚 entire team will be transitioning to roles with other restaurants under the Unconventional Hospitality Group umbrella, which includes Pretty Not Bad, Salt & Brick, and Diner Deluxe.

鈥淲hile bidding farewell to Jack鈥檚 was a tough decision, we are excited about consolidating our efforts and resources into our other projects,鈥� said Greabeiel.

Jack鈥檚 on Bernard will have one final celebration on New Year鈥檚 Eve at 5 p.m. Jack鈥檚 final hurrah will have people dancing late into the night.

鈥淛ack鈥檚 holds a special place in my heart, and I鈥檓 immensely proud of what we鈥檝e achieved.鈥�
