Okanagan indie filmmaker Michael Fullerton has taken the plunge into the bizarre world of cinema launching a new film festival, WeirdFest.
Catering to filmmakers who dare to tread the unconventional path, WeirdFest welcomes submissions from local talents and international amateurs.
鈥淚 wanted to create a platform to promote unique local filmmakers that often don鈥檛 get the recognition they deserve,鈥 Fullerton said. 鈥淧eople who make strange films tend to be highly original creative people who are often misunderstood.鈥
For filmmakers eager to join the WeirdFest frenzy, submissions are open and will continue until July 31.
Residents of the Thomson/Okanagan region are offered a special opportunity to submit their films free of charge through www.bcweird.com.
The final selection of films to grace the festival鈥檚 screen will be unveiled by August 15.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 31, when WeirdFest will unleash its peculiar cinematic pieces at the 91大黄鸭 Film Studio.
