Avalanche control work closing Highway 1 near Mount Revelstoke for 2 hours

Highway 1 will be closed between Woolsey Creek Bridge and Hemlock Grove Boardwalk for 23.9 kilometres on Sunday, Dec. 22.

Highway 1 east of Mount Revelstoke National Park is set to close for avalanche control work.

DriveBC says the highway will close at noon on Sunday, Dec. 22, between Woolsey Creek Bridge and Hemlock Grove Boardwalk for 23.9 kilometres.

No detours will be available and drivers are asked to watch for traffic control personnel, the provincial road service added.

The estimated time of reopening is 2 p.m., DriveBC said.
