Murder is afoot in the Okanagan.

At least, in the 1800s.

The Okanagan Mystery Bus Tour loaded up residents for a murder-mystery story that had them learning about history and the historical places in 91大黄鸭.

Jenn Garner, education and program coordinator with the Okanagan Museum said the 40 seats were quickly filled.

鈥淲e had lots of inquiry afterward so we had quite a long waiting list so basically the idea of a historical mystery appealed to people.鈥�

This was the second bus tour held as part of Heritage Week. This year鈥檚 adventure also included a story.

鈥淩ight now we are almost at the end of Heritage Week鈥� so we like to highlight a few special heritage locations and heritage families around the Okanagan. So this was just a fun way to present in conjunction with Heritage Week,鈥� said Garner.

The murder-mystery is a true local unsolved mystery, she said.

鈥淭wo families who did not like each other in 1868, one accused another of a heinous crime,鈥� said Garner.

The tour visited six locations, beginning and ending at the Benvoulin Heritage Church.

Bob Hayes with the historical society, said they came up with the idea to add a mystery.

鈥淚t just took off from there. It has people exploring some of the buildings. Last year it didn鈥檛 have a story. I鈥檝e got in mind one for next year,鈥� he said.

The tour was held Friday, Feb. 17.
