Lake Country residents are likely looking at a double-digit property tax hike for the second year in a row.

Budget documents going to council Dec. 19 outline three scenarios with proposed tax increases of 11.59, 10.02, and 8.96 per cent.

The 10.02 per cent figure is being recommended by staff.

鈥淲hich includes funding one of the two additional RCMP officers from reserves and phasing in the increase to the fire facilities and equipment replacement reserve over two years,鈥 the documents state.

Residents were hit with a 17.05 per cent property tax hike in the previous budget, driven in part by the district being responsible for 90 per cent of policing costs, inflationary pressures and a rise in wages, supplies and other costs.
