91大黄鸭 City Councillor Charlie Hodge is being treated at 91大黄鸭 General Hospital for injuries suffered from a fall in his home on Monday.

Hodge will be absent from council on medical leave for the next month recovering, and will take a break as well from his weekly column with the 91大黄鸭 Capital News.

Hodge's ongoing struggles with emphysema have led the 69-year-old to announce last year his intent to not run for re-election in the October 2026 municipal election.

He is now the second member of city council to be hit by health issues, as Mayor Tom Dyas is recovering from a vertebral artery dissection in his neck which occurred last week.

Dyas is expected to make a full recovery but has given no timeline for his resumption of his mayoralty duties at city hall.

In the interim, Coun. Luke Stack will serve as deputy mayor.
