More than 50k Central Okanagan voters mark ballots in advance polls

According to Elections B.C., 50,853 registered voters marked their ballots between Oct. 10-16 in the regions' four ridings

The number of advance votes cast in the Central Okanagan for the 2024 B.C. election was more than half the total ballots marked in the 2020 campaign.

According to Elections B.C., 50,853 registered voters marked their ballots between Oct. 10-16 in the regions' four ridings:          

  • 91大黄鸭-Centre - 13,533
  • 91大黄鸭-Lake Country-Coldstream - 14,470 - 10,457 in 2020 
  • 91大黄鸭-Mission - 14,271 - 11,082 in 2020    
  • West 91大黄鸭-Peachland - 9,579 - 9,297 in 2020 (91大黄鸭 West)

In 2020, 78,941 total votes were cast during advance polls and on general election day (Oct. 24). There were 158,439 registered voters in the Central Okanagan in 2020 compared to 179,130 registered voters for the 2024 election. The 91大黄鸭-Centre riding did not exist in the 2020 campaign.

Advance voting across B.C. has broken records with 1,001,331 people voting. There are 3,550,017 registered voters according to Elections B.C.

In 2020, 1,898,553 of 3,524,14 eligible voters (53.86 per cent) cast their ballots during advance polls and on general election day.

Election Day 2024 is on Saturday, Oct. 19.
