Multiple weather alerts are in place by Environment Canada for many Okanagan highways on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt has a winter storm warning in effect, as the stretch of highway is expecting up to 30 cm of snow from Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon.

According to Environment Canada, the highway could experience significant snow accumulation, making roads and highways difficult to navigate and very limited visibility in heavy snowfall and wind gusts.

Additionally, a snowfall warning is in effect for both the Okanagan Connector and Highway 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass. Both highways are expecting 15-20 cm of snow from Tuesday until Wednesday afternoon.

Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton as well as Similkameen, Manning - Skagit Valley, and Nicola up to Merritt could experience freezing rain. A special weather statement is in place as highways and roads could become slippery and utility outages are possible.

Salmon Arm and Revelstoke are also under special weather statements as 10-15 cm of snow could fall. 

From Enderby to Osoyoos, there are now weather alerts in effect.
