One man was taken into custody following crash involving a motorcycle on Highway 97 between Highway 33 and Banks Road, Thursday morning. 

Sgt. Laura Pollock said the man was arrested and is receiving treatment at the hospital for his injuries.

91大黄鸭 RCMP have closed two westbound lanes of Highway 97 at Powick and Banks due to the collision. 

Highway 97 will be down to one westbound lane until further notice.  91大黄鸭 RCMP is encouraging motorists to find an alternate route.

鈥淭he incident is still under investigation and the RCMP is encouraging anyone with dash cam footage to contact the RCMP鈥� said Sgt. Laura Pollock, media relations officer.

A police incident has Highway 97 down to one lane westbound between Highway 33 and Banks Road.

It follows reports of a motorcycle crash in that area around 12 p.m. on Aug, 29.

A Capital News reporter at the scene said RCMP are speaking to several witnesses. The 91大黄鸭 Fire Department is also at the scene. 

Traffic is heavily backed up on Highway 97 southbound as well as Enterprise Way.
