Once the holiday season winds down, residents in the Central Okanagan are encouraged to recycle their natural Christmas trees through the Regional District Central Okanagan's (RDCO) Chip It Program.
Trees collected at designated drop-off sites will be chipped and composted into GlenGrow, a nutrient-rich compost available at locations such as the Glenmore Landfill. Before dropping off a tree, residents must remove all decorations, tinsel and other materials.
Christmas Tree Drop-Off Locations (Dec. 26-Jan. 31):

- Cook Road Boat Launch - open 24/7;
- Ben Lee Park (Houghton Road parking lot) - open 24/7;
- Glenmore Landfill (2710 John Hindle Drive) - open daily, 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (closed Dec. 25–26 and Jan. 1).
The is a maximum three trees per load and loads must be tarped.
West 91´ó»ÆѼ and Peachland:
- Westside Residential Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre (2640 Asquith Road) - open Friday to Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. (Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1).
Lake Country:
- Jack Seaton Park (1950 Camp Road) - open 24/7.
Residents can also cut their trees into smaller pieces and place them in their yard waste carts when curbside yard waste collection resumes on March 3. Prunings and branches must be under 5 cm (2 in) in diameter and no longer than 1 metre (3 ft).
