Environment Canada is issuing a special weather statement for the Central and North Okanagan, Shuswap and Revelstoke.
Between 10 and 25 cm of snow is expected to fall Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon.
According to Environment Canada, a moisture-laden Pacific frontal system is the reason for the heavy snowfall coming to parts of the southern B.C. Interior, Tuesday night.
For the North Thompson, Shuswap and West Columbia, snow will intensify Tuesday evening and persist until Wednesday afternoon before easing as the system departs.
鈥淭here is still uncertainty regarding exact snowfall amounts and the timing of the snow-to-rain transition in each region. Snowfall warnings may be issued as the situation becomes clearer,鈥 stated Environment Canada.
Motorists are warned to adjust their driving as there could be sudden reduced visibility during the heavy snow.
