91大黄鸭 RCMP are seeking public assistance in finding a boat and trailer stolen from the 300 Poplar Point Drive on July 18, 2024.

Stealing boats has been a popular activity in 91大黄鸭 recently.

RCMP say around 8 p.m. on Wednesday (July 17) a boater found a pontoon boat reported stolen earlier in the day from the 2000 block of Lakeshore Road.

It was discovered adrift near the Eldorado Hotel and towed to a nearby dock where the owner claimed it.

On Thursday (July 18) at around 9:30 a.m., 91大黄鸭 RCMP received a report of a boat and trailer stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Poplar Point Drive.

A red 2013 Hewescraft 22鈥 foot aluminum boat and trailer left parked in the driveway were stolen sometime overnight.

鈥淚nvestigators are canvassing for CCTV and ask anyone in the Poplar Point area including the north end area of 91大黄鸭 to have a look at their cameras and see if they find a suspect vehicle pulling the boat,鈥 said Cpl. Michael Gauthier.

Gauthier added the two incidents are far apart, with different circumstances, to make any connection at this time.

鈥淚n many cases when we see boats stolen on trailers, they鈥檙e immediately taken out of town or into the next province to either be sold or stripped,鈥 he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 91大黄鸭 RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2024-40578, or Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
