Fans of Big White's powder need to slow down in order to get to the hill safe.
That was the word from Big White Fire Chief Jamie Svendsen on Saturday, hours after his crews, along with other emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle .
鈥淓ighty per cent of the accidents we respond to on that road are caused by speed and bad tires,鈥 he said. 鈥淧eople are not slowing down and taking their time. People are passing others. It鈥檚 ridiculous sometimes.鈥
With a 70 per cent chance of precipiation overnight and temperatures falling to -1, conditions on area roads could cause problems, especially on the roads at higher elevations.
Freezing rain overnight Friday turned the Big White Road into an icy stretch that led to the accident, said Svendsen.
