Seems it does not take too much to get a municipal councillor excited these days.
When the issue of rezoning a small piece of property in 91大黄鸭鈥檚 Mission area came up for discussion at city council鈥檚 meeting Monday, at least on councillor admitted she was so excited to see it proceeding, she actually cheered鈥攐ut loud.
鈥淚 was really excited when I saw this,鈥 Gray said. 鈥淚 think I went 鈥榶ea!鈥 out loud.鈥
The object of Gray鈥檚 excitement was rezoning a small piece of land owned by FortisBC, located beside its Swordy Road substation, to allow it to become a 67-stall parking lot for a five-storey retail, commercial and apartment complex nearby called The Shore. The land for the parking lot would be leased to the developers of The Shore.
91大黄鸭 council had encouraged the developer to try and obtain the land for the parking lot because concerns about the lack of parking in the area.
Other councillors also expressed happiness to see the rezoning proposal. But no one else admitted to cheering out loud over the prospect.
