Police determined that the driver of the suspect vehicle, who was also the registered owner, was already prohibited from being at the wheel at all.

"Officers at the scene detected what they believed to be strong symptoms of impairment by alcohol from the driver,鈥 stated O鈥橠onaghey in a release.

The 50-year-old West 91大黄鸭 man was taken to the RCMP detachment where it is alleged he provided a breath sample more than two and a half times the legal limit of 0.08.

The man faces potential charges and was held in police custody overnight.
