UPDATE: Friends rally around man pulled from burning building

Fire crews pulled one man from a 91大黄鸭 building that caught fire Wednesday morning.

Friends of the man burned in a workplace accident Wednesday morning are trying to raise funds to relieve some of the burden on his family as he receives treatment.

He is currently at Vancouver General Hospital鈥檚 burn unit. This fund is to relieve the burden on his family so they can join his side.

UPDATE: 4:40 p.m.

The man who was pulled from a building on fire, Wednesday morning, has been flown to the Lower Mainland for further medical care.

The fire department managed to rescue the 91大黄鸭 resident who was working on the structure at 555 Buckland Avenue. He suffered from smoke inhalation and significant burns to his body.

According to Cpl. Tania Carroll the investigation is in its early stages; however the preliminary information suggests that the fire started on the upper floor of the three storey building and smoke could be seen coming from the vents on the roof.

Worksafe BC was notified and arrived on scene as well the RCMP Forensic Identification Services and are working to determine the cause of the blaze.

One man was rescued Wednesday morning from a fire in a three-storey townhouse curently under construction near the Central Green project in downtown 91大黄鸭.

The fire at Marshall and Buckland streets, was called in at about 7 a.m., is still being dealt with by 91大黄鸭 Fire Department.

It isn鈥檛 a threat to nearby structures.

Crews on scene said the man was transported to KGH, but little about his condition or what he was doing in the building is currently known.
