At least two places in the Penticton area will have New Year’s Eve fireworks to celebrate the start of 2024.

It’s almost time to ring in the new year and the Penticton Lakeside Resort isn’t going to let the occasion pass without making some noise.

The downtown resort is inviting the community to celebrate New Year’s 2024 near Okanagan Lake, capped off by a special fireworks show.

When the clock says midnight on Jan. 1, the annual show will begin above the lake.

Apex Mountain Resort is having not one but two firework shows.

The first fireworks show is at 6 p.m. and then the next one is at midnight. Both shows are onthe Okanagan Run. Gunbarrel Saloon is hosting its annual New Year’s party but it is sold out.

Go Skating

Families lace up their skates at the private outdoor skating rink at the back of the resort. There will also be holiday-themed parties at the Barking Parrot and Hooded Merganser. Skating will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

The outdoor skating rink beside Gyro Park is also open tonight until 9 p.m.

Live Music

The Hub on Martin has champagne, appys and the live sounds of CRUSH XO until 1 a.m.

Comedy

Train Wreck Comedy is pulling into the New Year’s station with a night of laughter in Penticton.

Taking the stage at Highway 97 Brewing will be Kate Belton and the legendary “Harley Guy” Herb Dixon.
