The second annual Okanagan CARE Canada Walk In Her Shoes challenge will take place in advance of International Women’s Day at Mission Creek Park on Sunday, March 5, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Women and girls in developing countries must walk an average of 10,000 steps every day to collect the basics their families need to survive – water, food and firewood. This leaves little time to get an education or earn an income. CARE Canada’s Walk In Her Shoes challenge is asking Okanagan residents to walk in solidarity with women worldwide and raise funds to help break the cycle of poverty.
