On  an officer on patrol with the 91大黄鸭 RCMP Downtown Enforcement Unit (DEU) spotted a suspect June 14, at 2:20 p.m., wanted on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

The officer arrested the man and found he was in possession of various illegal drugs, as well as a concealed butterfly knife and can of bear spray.

In his possession were:

鈥� 1.16 grams of suspected heroin

鈥� two grams of suspected methamphetamine

鈥� 1.37 grams of crack cocaine.

鈥淭he DEU is dedicated to 91大黄鸭鈥檚 downtown core,鈥� said Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淒EU proactively works closely with various partner agencies to reduce street crime and make the downtown a safer place for everyone to enjoy. Officers of the DEU have a relationship with their clients and regularly breach those clients or arrest them on outstanding arrest warrants,鈥� O鈥橠onaghey said in a press release.

The 25-year-old 91大黄鸭 man, of no fixed address, was held in police custody to appear in court on today, June 15. He faces potential charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited weapon.
