A 91大黄鸭 man is facing criminal charges after his vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with a van full of people.
"On Feb. 27 at 8:57 p.m., the 91大黄鸭 RCMP responded to a collision on Clement Avenue near St. Paul Street. Investigators have determined that a grey Mercedes CLS6 had crossed over the centre line and collided head on with a brown Dodge Caravan," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghy, in a press release.
"The driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes, a 23-year-old 91大黄鸭 man, was not injured. He displayed symptoms of impairment, and investigators entered into an impaired driving investigation. He was detained by police and subsequently refused to provide a breath sample back at the detachment."
The driver was issued driving prohibitions under the Motor Vehicle Act. He was later released from police custody on a Promise to Appear in Court. He faces potential criminal charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and failing or refusing to provide a breath sample.
The four occupants of the minivan were treated at scene by Emergency Health Services and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The minivan sustained extensive front end damage to the front driver side of the vehicle.
