RCMP are appealing for witnesses and/or for the driver to come forward after a student was injured while crossing a West 91大黄鸭 road Friday morning.

The West 91大黄鸭 RCMP were contacted March 4  at 9:20 a.m, by the Principal of Constable Neil Bruce Middle School who reported that one of his students had been hit by a vehicle while walking to the school.

"Police have determined that the youth was crossing Old Okanagan Highway, in the crosswalk towards his school, when a silver Toyota pickup truck, travelling west bound, drove through the intersection and made contact with the young man," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey. "The vehicle continued on without stopping."

The young man reported that the driver of the vehicle bumped his leg with the vehicles bumper, and the youth put his hand up to stop the impact. He was taken to a medical clinic by family to be treated for minor injuries to his left leg and wrist.

At this time the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP are appealing for witnesses to come forward," says Cst. Jesse O'Donaghey. "We believe there were witnesses in the area who have not yet spoken to police. We also suspect there may be a possibility that the driver himself, who was described only as a man, may not be aware that he struck the youth," adds O'Donaghey.

If you witnessed this incident, or you believe you were the driver of the silver Toyota pick up truck you are urged to contact Const. Darwin Robbins of the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP at 250-768-2880.
