Just before the elimination of the carbon tax cut gas prices, a machete wielding Shuswap man was making some cuts of his own at a local station.

At approximately 7 p.m. on March 21, Chase RCMP responded to a report of a weapons complaint at the Scotch Creek Market gas station.

"The male suspect was allegedly wielding a machete and causing damage at the business," RCMP E Division media relations officer Staff Sgt. Kris Clark said in a report. "Police attended the scene and took the suspect into custody."

Though uninjured, the man, who is known to police, was taken to hospital for any treatment he might require.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been made at this time.
