A school in West 91´ó»ÆѼ has not been open for a week because of burst pipes.

Pipes across the South Okanagan have been freezing and bursting. On Sunday, a business in the Earl’s restaurant complex opened its front doors so water from a burst pipe could come gushing out into the parking lot. The torrent of water was flowing so fast, it flooded down to Main Street.

Lots of residents are also reporting furnaces that can’t keep up and lack of hot water as we enter day four of frigid temperatures.

On Saturday, Osoyoos Fire Rescue reminded everyone to check their outside furnace vents during these frigid temperatures. Ice build up can cause issues with furnaces and lead to an increase in carbon monoxide levels in your home. Make sure your carbon monoxide detectors are working as well, posted Osoyoos Fire on Facebook.
