After three years in the top 25 and and a year after making the number six position, Penticton has dropped out of U-Haul's list of top-growing Canadian cities. 

The do-it-yourself moving company recently released its 2024 annual report on the flow of its vehicles to and from cities across the country. 

Penticton spent 2021 and 2022 at the 21st fastest growing city, surging up to take the sixth spot in 2023 before dropping off the top 25 entirely in the most recent report. 

91大黄鸭, which had ranked at number four in the report covering 2023, dropped down to the 23rd spot in 2024's statistics. 

U-Haul calculates growth cities and provinces by net gain (or loss) of one-way equipment from customer transactions in a calendar year.

The company noted that the growth index does not correlate directly to population or economic growth. 

The highest growth city in B.C. according to the index was Chilliwack, which was ranked 16th on the list.
