Twinkling lights, presents and turkey-Christmas is known to many as a time of joy. But for others, it can be a lonely time of year.
That鈥檚 why Penticton鈥檚 Unity Clubhouse, a Canadian Mental Health Association organization, decided to spread kindness.
The clubhouse organized a holiday party on Dec. 19, which included a turkey dinner, photo opportunities and music. Those in attendance were treated to a gift of homemade treats, socks and a gift card.
鈥淭he staff and volunteers enjoy putting on these events because they believe that sharing a meal is a way to build connection,鈥 said Monika Belovska.
鈥淲e spared no effort in creating a beautiful meal.鈥
