Raymond Salgado joins Host Peter McCully to talk about competing on the television show 鈥淐anada鈥檚 Got Talent.鈥�
鈥極nce I got the opportunity to participate this year, it really wasn鈥檛 something that I was expecting, a lot of the memories, a lot of the opportunities coming my way. This whole experience has been very validating to me.鈥�
Salgado says that he had just finished auditioning for 鈥楢merican Idol鈥�, when the opportunity arose.
鈥業t鈥檚 interesting because at the time I just came off of auditioning for American Idol and that didn鈥檛 really go my way at the time, I think that was a huge turning point for me because I realized, it鈥檚 not that I wasn鈥檛 vocally ready, it was just not the right time in that moment.鈥�
The only person in British Columbia to make it as a finalist, Salgado talks about the talented people in and around Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
鈥業t鈥檚 just crazy. There鈥檚 so much talent in Nanaimo and it鈥檚 really cool to see people just being able to share their gifts with our community and being able to share that on a world platform. There鈥檚 just so much talent. I鈥檓 not surprised, but I鈥檓 also just so happy that we鈥檝e been able to represent well with music and with the arts.鈥�
Lauren Spencer Smith and Cameron Whitcomb competed on 鈥楢merican Idol鈥� and Carlow Rush and Jacksun Fryer of 鈥楩unkanometry鈥� recently competed on 鈥楢merica鈥檚 got Talent,鈥� all of Nanaimo.
The podcast contains Salgado鈥檚 version of 鈥楩eeling Good鈥�, which launched him into the final.
