Puppy love at Salmon Arm Dodge dealership

Braby Motors hosted adoption, fundraising event for Shuswap Paws Rescue Society

Braby Motors 鈥楶aws鈥檈d its usual operations to host an event filled with puppy love.

The dealership teamed up with Shuswap Paws Rescue Society to host Puppy Day on Saturday, March 23, featuring nine fuzzies, including three malamutes, five Labradors and a Rottweiler/shepherd cross. Of those, all but two were adopted, with just a husky and lab remaining.

In a particularly happy tale, the mixed breed went home with someone who had previously adopted its sibling.

鈥淚t was a really amazing event for us,鈥 Paws president Barb Gosselin said.

鈥淭his generated so much attention. It was so successful, so I hope to do it again. And we would definitely do kittens if they鈥檇 let us, we used to do kitten yoga through Gratitude Yoga.鈥

The puppy posse captivated hearts of all ages during the four-hour event, and were well-behaved thanks to Paws鈥 housing situation that integrates them with families.

鈥淲e use fosters, so these dogs are in homes learning how to be actual dogs with kids, other dogs and kitties,鈥 Gosselin explained.

The popular event also included a Jam the Ram initiative, with the truck packed with supplies and an additional $500 in cash raised. Braby sales personnel have also been working their tales off throughout March as $50 from every vehicle sold has been donated to Paws. Though there are a few more days left, marketing manager Mallory Puddifant estimates the current total to be between 35 to 40 sales, for a funding total of $1,750 to $2,000.
