St Hubertus & Oak Bay Estate Winery in 91大黄鸭 has teamed up with Complete Core Pilates for the fifth annual Pinot & Pilates event to raise funds for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
The July 6 event is to help families living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a disease which primarily affects boys, however it occurs across all races and cultures. Young men with Duchenne typically live into their late twenties.
鈥淲e expect about 75 people to take part in the event, many whom are completely new to Pilates,鈥 said organizer Kyla Ramirez. 鈥淚 started Pinot & Pilates with St. Hubertus so we could build awareness and raise funds to help families living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood.鈥
Ramirez is close friends with the Beaulieu family who are raising three boys, two with DMD. The Beaulieu鈥檚 are an inspirational family, traveling and living life to the fullest with their boys.
鈥淎ll of this news is brutal but these are our boys and we鈥檙e going to keep giving them the best life we can every day,鈥 said Steve Beaulieu in a video documenting their journey.
鈥淚 just feel gratitude every day to be with the boys and to have them in my life鈥 said Michelle Beaulieu. 鈥淔or us, every day, every moment, every breath is priceless and we鈥檒l cherish it as long as we can.鈥
Ramirez explained that helping out at the event is easy.
鈥淎ll you need to do to attend Pinot & Pilates is come to the event at St Hubertus on July 6 at 7 p.m. with your mat, towel, and a donation which goes directly to research with Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. We ask people to RSVP as 鈥楪oing鈥 on our so we can plan for the wine tasting. And of course, people should be prepared to enjoy the view, Pilates in the vineyard, and some fine wines. We want people to learn more about DMD as well as relax and have fun.鈥
