UPDATE: West 91大黄鸭 convicted killer arrested

After receiving multiple calls from residents, 91大黄鸭 RCMP has arrested Tyler Jack Newton.

鈥淭his was an excellent example of the 91大黄鸭 RCMP members, local media and the public working together to locate and ultimately arrest this dangerous repeat offender,鈥 says Const. Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer. 鈥淭hank you to citizens and callers who took the correct action by calling the 91大黄鸭 RCMP and not approaching this individual.鈥

He was arrested in the downtown core yesterday. He is being held in custody and will appear in court later today.

Newton was wanted on a B.C.-wide warrant for an aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an offence stemming from an incident in West 91大黄鸭 in December of 2021.

West 91大黄鸭 RCMP are asking the public for help in searching for a convicted killer with a province-wide warrant.

Tyler Jack Newton was arrested in 2014 for the murder of Caesar Rosales. Newton stabbed Rosales in the neck with a knife at a transit stop in 91大黄鸭 on Oct. 30 of that year.

After serving seven years in jail, he was released in December 2020 after completing his sentence.

Since being released, he鈥檚 been arrested multiple times, including fleeing from police in July 2021 and January 2022 when he stole a vehicle and had drug paraphernalia.

The 32-year-old is now wanted for aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and using an imitation firearm during an incident in West 91大黄鸭 in December of 2021.

He is still a resident of West 91大黄鸭.
