Sicamous RCMP believe a quantity of cocaine seized from a suspicious vehicle was not intended for personal use.
On Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. police stopped a rental vehicle on MacLean-McPherson Road that was driving in 鈥渁 suspicious manner,鈥 Sgt. Murray McNeil reported in a Feb. 14 media release. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle, resulting in the seizure of 180 grams of cocaine 鈥 well over the 2.5 grams allowed under decriminalization 鈥 as well as a small amount of methamphetamine.
鈥淭he quality of cocaine seized, and that manner in which it was both packaged and concealed in the vehicle indicated the drugs were being trafficked and not for personal use,鈥 McNeil said in the release.
The driver, a 58-year-old Salmon Arm man and his passenger were released at the scene, but police are continuing the investigation.
