It鈥檚 a sign of the times鈥攕tatic is out, electronic is in.
Following the lead of the Rotary Centre for the Arts next door, 91大黄鸭鈥檚 Prospera Place has won city approval to replace the existing signs on the outside of the building over its front doors with six new electronic signs.
The existing signs, described as 鈥減retty ugly,鈥 by one city councillor, will be replaced by the new digital signs that will have limits put on them for brightness, speed of of messaging change, content and size.
No third party advertising will be allowed on the new signs and city staff say the main aim is to advertise current and upcoming events at the arena and community events.
City planning manager Terry Barton also told council that the arena鈥檚 owners are aware that no additional electronic signs will be allowed outside the arena.
鈥淭hey know, this is it,鈥 he said.
