The 91大黄鸭 RCMP are investigating what was believed to be a suspicious house fire early Sunday morning in 91大黄鸭.
The 91大黄鸭 Fire Department was alerted by a 911 call to a blaze at 400 McPhee St. at around 5 a.m.
When KFD crew members arrived, half of the house's exterior was engulfed in flames.
The home suffered extensive damage but the fire crews were successful in protecting many of the possessions inside.
The occupants, who were home at the time, got out of the house safely.
The heat from the fire also damaged the outside of a neighbouring house and RV.
The 91大黄鸭 Fire Department responded with 15 personnel, in three engines, one rescue truck and a command vehicle. Ambulance and RCMP were also at the scene.
"It appears that the fire is suspicious," KFD platoon captain Steve Wallick said in a press release.
"RCMP will be in charge of the investigation with the assistance of Kelowna Fire Department investigators."
The family is displaced from their home and Emergency Support Services has offered assistance.
