Suspect nabbed for suspected theft of large knife.

House of Knives in 91大黄鸭 was allegedly robbed by a man dressed all in black and with his face painted black.

A robbery suspect was expected to appear in a 91大黄鸭 courtroom today (April 11) facing potential charges after being arrested Friday.

On April 8, at 9:46 a.m., the 91大黄鸭 RCMP received a report of a theft just committed at the House of Knives in Orchard Park Mall. The suspect is alleged to have gone behind the counter to steal a large-edged weapon. The suspect then allegedly threatened to harm the staff member on site if they called security, before fleeing on foot out of the mall towards Cooper Road.

鈥淭he suspect, who attempted to conceal his identity in an unusual way, was described to police as having painted his entire face and arms black while wearing all black clothing,鈥 says Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 too difficult for our investigators, aided by the stores video surveillance footage, to locate, identify and arrest the suspect in the 200 block of Leon Avenue.鈥

The suspect, a 21-year-old 91大黄鸭 man, was taken into custody without incident. He was remanded into police custody over the weekend. He faces potential charges of robbery and fail to comply with a probation order.
