In the second installment of On Point: a series of Upside Down Town Halls, organizers want to initiate  a conversation about building economic resilience in the Okanagan and help to provide an understanding of what we can all do to work towards a prosperous future.

鈥淲e鈥檝e got a great line up of community leaders coming to share how they play a role in economic resilience and the key ingredients we can borrow from other industries,鈥� said Urban Systems communities consultant Erin Welk. 鈥淎nd then over drinks, dessert and entertainment, we can start to discuss our role in the Okanagan economy.鈥�

This free community event will be held Tuesday, Oct.25, 7 鈥� 10 p.m., at The Laurel Packinghouse, 1304 Ellis St.

On Point will support the popular #Imagine91大黄鸭 initiative where the City of 91大黄鸭 asks residents to take part in the largest city-wide conversation in recent years to help create a long-term community vision.

Residents are invited to share their vision to shape the future of 91大黄鸭 and visit to have a say.

Additional town hall forum dates and topics include:

Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. - Climate Change: Should we foster greater responsibility towards our environment and our climate? Perspectives about the villains and heroes in our climate story.

Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. - Transportation: Are we stuck, literally? How are we getting around鈥� and getting along in the process? Do we need a new relationship with transportation and mobility in our region?

These events are free and open to the public. There will be food, a cash bar, and local entertainment. Spaces are limited and registration is required:
