91大黄鸭 RCMP arrested a man downtown early Friday morning, found in possession of property believed to be taken from vehicles, along with tools commonly used to break into vehicles.
On April 8, at 3:47 a.m., the 91大黄鸭 RCMP arrested a man who was subsequently found in possession of items believed to have been recently stolen from vehicles targeted in the downtown area.
鈥淩CMP have seen an increase in reported theft from motor vehicles in 91大黄鸭,鈥 said Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淲e hope to see a decline in these incidents with this suspect in custody. Regardless we will continue to focus our efforts in both preventing, as well as identifying and fully investigating these types of incidents,鈥 added O鈥橠onaghey.
The suspect was also found to be in possession of tools commonly used to illegally gain entry into vehicles. He was also found in possession of a set of brass knuckles, considered a prohibited weapon under the Criminal Code.
The suspect, a 24-year-old man of no fixed address, faces potential charges of possession of break in tools, possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of breach of probation. He remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on April 14.
