It鈥檚 an early and unwanted Christmas vacation for employees at Tolko鈥檚 Lavington operations.

The mill lost power Monday, Dec. 4, due to an upset condition with an energy transformer, resulting in the curtailment of some activity for an extended period of time.

鈥淲hile it could take a month, we are working to shorten that timeline,鈥 said Chris Downey, Tolko communications advisor.

Mill production is currently curtailed and will not resume until safe to do so.

Shipping and log yard activities have not been impacted.

Tolko Lavington employs more than 150 people, and Downey said approximately 115 will be impacted.

鈥淲e鈥檙e currently working through the possible options and programs to support them through this unpredictable situation,鈥 he said.
